Thank-You Cocktail Recipes This Year

Hi there, Thanksgiving is less than a week away from us, and Christmas is also fast approaching. So obviously the festival season is the time to stock up on the booze for all those family members and friends who would come over for dinner, snacks, other meals or just to wish you happiness, health and luck. So head immediately to a liquor store near you or pre-order/book/buy the alcoholic beverage of your choice online from #OurLiquorStore. Now whether you’re throwing a party or need something to sip while you stay home, there are options aplenty at Our Liquor Store

Yes, we know that the phrase “hosting Thanksgiving” might send your stress levels skyrocketing, but pulling off a celebration that people will remember for years (in a good way!) doesn’t have to be difficult. One sure-fire way to break the ice of even the frostiest familial arguments? Serve something shaken over ice. This year, while you’re putting those finishing touches on the gravy and cranberry sauce, offer your guests a selection of these Thanksgiving-themed alcoholic drinks to get everyone in the festive spirit (non-drinkers in the family? Opt for a mocktail option too.) Going virtual this year? What better way to toast the holiday than by sharing a tasty, Thanksgiving-themed recipe and raising a glass in a video call. However you’re celebrating this year, prepare for the compliments on your impeccable hosting skills to roll in. So today we bring you a few tried and trusted cocktail recipes, and a few new creations that are not so commonly popular yet.

Thanks Given (Ingredients Cointreau, vodka, fresh lemon juice, cranberry sauce, Sparkling wine to finish): Add all ingredients except sparkling wine into the shaker. Add ice and shake. Fine strain into coupe glass. Finish with sparkling wine and garnish with sage leaf and orange wheel, if desired.

Autumn Fizz (Ingredients Alibi Gin, lemon juice, Agave nectar to taste, Sparkling apple cider, garnish with thyme and apple): Pour gin in shaker, add lemon juice and agave nectar, shake, and then pour into a highball glass and top with sparkling cider. Garnish with fresh thyme and an apple slice.

Pumpkin Pie Martini (Ingredients vanilla vodka, spiced rum, Domaine de Canton, pumpkin puree, white sugar, ground pumpkin pie spice, marshmallow cream or whipped cream, for garnish): Add vodka, rum, Domaine de Canton & pumpkin puree into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until well combined. Rim a martini glass with mixed sugar & pumpkin pie spice. Double strain the martini into the glass and top with marshmallow cream or whipped cream.

Golden Tail (Ingredients Nelson’s Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey, lemon juice, honey simple (2:1 ratio raw honey to water), Allspice Dram1 dash chocolate bitters): Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until chilled and strain into a chilled coupe. Express the oils from a lemon peel over the top of the drink and discard the peel.

Butternut Squash Daiquiri (Ingredients sugar, coarsely grated butternut squash, peeled, dark rum, fresh lime juice): Combine sugar with 1 cup water in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer to dissolve sugar. Add the squash and simmer until tender but not falling apart, 10-15 minutes. Let cool and strain through a fine mesh strainer. Reserve and refrigerate squash and syrup separately. Chill for at least 1 hour. To make a cocktail, combine 1 oz butternut squash syrup with rum and lim juice in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass and garnish with a dollop of reserved squash.

Family Tradition (Ingredients Knob Creek Bourbon, allspice dram, rich demerara syrup, Mole bitters, lemon, orange, Star anise, for garnish): Add all ingredients into a double rocks glass. Add a large cube of ice and stir lightly until the drink is slightly chilled. Zest a lemon peel and an orange peel over top and discard both. Garnish with a star anise on top of the ice cube.
